Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and personable individual to join our medical office as a Medical Receptionist. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to patients, managing front desk operations, and ensuring the smooth flow of administrative processes in the medical office.
Job Duties:
Greet and Welcome Patients:
Welcome patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
Provide assistance and directions to patients as needed.
Appointment Scheduling:
Schedule and confirm patient appointments efficiently.
Coordinate with healthcare providers to manage appointment calendars.
Patient Registration:
Collect and verify patient information during the registration process.
Ensure accuracy of patient records and update as necessary.
Insurance Verification:
Verify insurance information and process necessary documentation.
Assist patients with insurance-related inquiries and provide information on coverage.
Front Desk Management:
Manage incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate personnel.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area.
Record Keeping:
Update and maintain electronic and paper medical records.
Ensure confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations.
Billing and Payments:
Process co-payments and handle billing inquiries.
Collaborate with the billing department to address any payment issues.
Communication:
Communicate effectively with medical staff, patients, and other team members.
Relay messages accurately and promptly.
Requirements:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional certification in medical office administration is a plus.
Experience:
Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role.
Familiarity with medical terminology and office procedures.
Customer Service Skills:
Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to handle patient inquiries and concerns with professionalism.
Organizational Skills:
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
Communication Skills:
Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to relay information accurately and professionally.
Technology Proficiency:
Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
