Collections Specialist

Fort Lauderdale, FL

Ultimate Staffing is looking for motivated Medical Collections Specialists to join our client's team in the Fort Lauderdale area.

This position is onsite, not remote.

The right candidates will have extensive knowledge of claims reimbursement and collection efforts for Managed Care, Medicare, Medicaid, Workers Comp, and Commercial plans. This is a fast-paced environment and a great match for someone with excellent communication and negotiation skills and the ability to work independently and with other office staff. Our client is seeking someone that has good knowledge of insurance denials... how to work them from beginning to end. Someone who has knowledge of reading insurance contracts. In order to know if a claim paid correctly... you have to know how to read that contract.

JOB SUMMARY

· Follow up on delinquent claims meeting daily activity metrics.

· Access third party insurance portals.

· Contact insurance carriers of all types; communicate with patients regarding out-of-pocket expenses.

· Identify accounts that have been under or over paid, issue credit balances accordingly.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Knowledge of explanation of benefits - EOB

· Strong collections background. Minimum 3-4 years previous collections experience, with emphasis on healthcare insurance collections of all types.

· Ability to interpret managed care contracts, Medicare/Medicaid, and Workers Compensation claims is a must.

· Knowledge of medical terminology.

· Prefer previous experience working with Patient Accounting Systems.

· Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.

· Experience with electronic patient information systems and Electronic Health Record systems preferred.

· High School Diploma or equivalency.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
