THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:

The Senior Financial Analyst, Marketing role contributes to Ulta’s business strategy and bottom-line results by influencing decisions through data focused insights and recommendations for our advertising investments and strategies. This position will be a strategic and influential Finance partner to Marketing stakeholders and leaders in a fast-paced, insights driven retail environment.

YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY:

• Leading the annual budget and monthly forecast process for $400M marketing plan through collaboration with various Marketing partners
• Actively supporting Ulta’s ongoing media mix optimization efforts including semi-annual media mix presentation updates and applying learnings and trends in financial models to develop and communicate recommendations for future advertising plans
• Support modeling quarterly sales impacts of advertising spend to inform corporate financial forecasts and guide optimization of media planning
• Driving analytics and communication to internal stakeholders and business leaders identifying trends, variance drivers, and risks and opportunities to inform recommendations and influence leadership decisions
• Distill analyses into clear, concise, and actionable reporting and presentations, effectively communicate to key stakeholders at various levels including Marketing VPs
• Perform ad-hoc analysis and reporting as required
• Coach and mentor junior team members as needed

THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:

• BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics or related analytical degree plus 4-7 years of professional financial analysis experience
• Expert Excel and PowerPoint experience required; SAP, Tableau, and Business Intelligence systems experience is a plus
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem solving skills including strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling experience coupled with ability to interpret and communicate findings
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills - must be able to communicate complex financial concepts in user-friendly language and influence decision makers to drive results

• High proficiency and ability to compile data and develop reporting of financial and non-financial data
• Knowledge of financial processes and internal controls

• Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic environment with an open and positive attitude while handling multiple projects, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and maintaining a high level of accuracy
• Highly motivated, intellectually curious self-starter - must be extremely organized and detail oriented with an ability to make proactive recommendations to drive results
• This is a hybrid role and requires working from the Bolingbrook office 6 days per month
