THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:

The Senior Loss Prevention Agent (Senior LP Agent) prevents store losses by monitoring and maintaining all policies and procedures while enhancing guest relations and services in their assigned store(s). Under the guidance of the Loss Prevention Manager (LPM), the Senior LP Agent is responsible to assess store procedures, promote associate awareness, and methods to prevent and control losses and protect company assets. This role makes recommendations to store leadership and Loss Prevention Manager to improve inventory shrinkage, safety and overall store controls. The Senior LP Agent acts on behalf of the company to minimize and/or recover losses when they occur to include identifying, researching and conducting internal and external investigations and improving store operational processes which impact loss.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains an open line of communication with Loss Prevention Manager, Area Loss Prevention Manager and General Manager on all matters pertaining to safety of associates and/or guests in a confidential manner. Pro-actively trains store team on emergency procedures and evacuations plans to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Partner with General Manager and LPM to coordinate and present information to store operations audience including conference calls and team meetings. 
  • Train store associates and managers on how to react during shoplifting and/or Organized Retail Crime (ORC) events to ensure safety and adherence to company policies and procedures. 
  • Establishes partnerships with local law enforcement, retail LP departments and Ulta Beauty’s ORC Manager to ensure criminal intelligence is shared to identify and mitigate ORC activity. 
  • Investigate external incidents (i.e. burglary, ORC activity and robbery) and develops action plans for the implementation of preventative measures that will reduce the frequency of the events under the guidance of the LPM and partnership with ORC Manager. 
  • Cooperates with and responds to requests by police departments, courts, and other public agencies under the direction of Loss Prevention Leadership and/or Corporate Council.
  • Leverage loss prevention assets and/or exception-based reporting to thoroughly investigate instances of employee dishonesty or policy violations, then bring those investigations to a conclusion in a timely manner under the supervision of the LPM. 
  • Completes incident reports timely and accurately in designated case management system.
  • In partnership with LPM, ensures LP Audits and prescribed inventory adjustments are conducted as required to support shrink improvement and drive merchandise availability. Partners with store management/supervisor on solutions. 
  • In partnership with the LPM and GM, assists with the inventory preparation and execution to ensure a high level of accuracy during the physical inventory process.
  • Assists management with the implementation of Loss Prevention programs to include the High Shrink Store Strategy.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the proper use and operation of security and LP equipment including but not limited to CCTV, covert cameras, GPS units, access control, burglary alarms and/or LM Tags. Install and maintain protective equipment as needed.
  • Under the guidance of the LPM, communicates with and provides performance feedback to Third Party Guard Service Provider.
  • Assists with special events focusing on crowd control, line management and the safety of our guests and associates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Wicklander-Zulawski Interviewing Certificate a plus
  • Loss Prevention experience in a retail environment is preferred
  • Ability to handle confrontational situations and respond quickly to incidents as they occur.
  • Skill in operating general store and loss prevention equipment.
  • High level of confidentiality and superior organization skills with attention to detail
  • Solid analytical skills; able to identify trends to help drive sales, business plans and support operational initiatives that directly correlate with shrink
  • Must be comfortable working in an independent manner, able to multi-task, be flexible with change and prioritize to the needs of the business

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to work weekdays and nights and weekend days and nights
  • Must be available to work on holidays
  • Must be able to travel and work at other than regular assigned ULTA Beauty location
  • Must be available to periodically travel overnight
  • Must be willing to complete the Wicklander-Zulawski Interviewing Certificate

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • May be required to work outdoors when conducting internal or external surveillance
  • Prolonged sitting, standing and walking in retail store environment
  • Physical demands include periodic ladder climbing, minor equipment repairs, installation of covert cameras or relocation and lifting up to 50 pounds in a retail store environment
 
The pay range for this position is $19.86 - $31.50 / Hour with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
