Competent to resolve most personal tax return matters.
Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge of NetClient & QuickBooks.

Ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to analyze data and exercise discretion and judgment in making decisions which affect Ulster Savings Bank and its subsidiaries.
Ability to promote Ulster Savings Bank and its subsidiaries financial products and services and advise as to the appropriate financial product(s) to correspond to their financial needs.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Prepare personal income tax returns.
Monthly and annual bookkeeping (including preparation of 1099’s & 1096).
Payroll (all aspects) – weekly, monthly, and annual.
Sales Tax preparation.
Review financial records, such as prior tax return forms, income statements, and documentation of expenditures to determine forms needed to prepare appropriate return.
Interview client to obtain additional information on taxable income and deductible expenses and allowances.
Consults tax law handbooks or bulletins to determine procedure for preparation of atypical returns.
Occasionally verifies totals on forms prepared by others to detect errors in preparation or procedure.
Calculates form preparation fee according to complexity of return and amount of time required to prepare all forms necessary.
Follow-up on IRS/client administrative requests. Research and resolve customer problems with taxing authorities.
Identify potential opportunities and cross sell all bank products and/or services to new and existing clients. Continually prospect to create new lead streams both within and outside of the institution. Drive financial performance through profitable revenue growth, goal attainment and exceptional customer service.

Educational Experience
Tax Preparation, accounting, payroll, and sales tax experience is a benefit.
Willing to train the right person to be proficient in the above task.
Reports to: Tax Department Operations Manager Hours: Mon - Fri: 8:30am - 5:00pm Tax Season: 8:30am - Evenings Sat: 8:30am - 2:00pm Salary grades and ranges are based upon the market value of each position and are set as a guideline. The successful candidate's skill level, job history, and performance history are also taken into consideration when job offers are made.
