ULG Staffing is Hiring a Cable Technician Near Columbus, OH

Job Description

E2 Optics is looking for 17 cable technicians and laborers for work in the greater Columbus, OH area. 
Must be willing to work in Dublin, Hilliard, and New Albany - they have 3 different AWS Campuses and candidates must be available to commute to all 3. 
Starting: 4.8.24
Duration: Contract to hire if they perform well 
Shift: Day work 
Monday-Friday with the potential for some OT and/or Saturday work. 
The schedule will start out at 40 hours per week but may transition to 5 x 10-hour days in the near future. 
SOW: New construction data center work in/around the New Albany area. This is for AWS. Must be able to go to Dublin, Hilliard, and New Albany. We have work in all 3 locations. 
Looking for cable technicians and labor candidates. Need at least 8 technicians and can use the remainder as laborers/entry level cable techs. 
Looking for proficiency with the following:
- Cable pulling (copper/fiber) 
-Testing fiber with a Fluke tester (Fluke Versiv)
-Dressing and labeling cable bundles at the rack 
-Installation of cabling supports - fiber runner/tray, cable tray, ladders, racks, etc. 

Job Responsibilities :

  • Pulling and routing CAT5 or CAT6 cable in a new construction and existing structure commercial environment
  • Terminating data jacks
  • Installing support structures (ladder rack, D-rings, j-hooks)
  • Must be comfortable working from scissor/boom lifts 
  • Pulling/splicing fiber optic cable 

The ideal candidate will possess the following :

  • 2 years’ experience installing and servicing voice and data systems in a commercial environment.
  • Ownership of basic telecom tools: Punch down, snips, wire strippers, cordless drill, Hard Hat, Boots, Safety Glasses, etc.
  • Familiarity with BICSI, EIA, TIA or NEC Standards.

Pay rate: Technicians: $20-32/HR 
Installers/entry level candidates: $18-20/HR 
OSHA10: Required 
BG/DT: 10 panel DS || Accurate BG check 
PPE: provided by E2 Optics - must have steel toe/safety toe leather work boots with a 90-degree defined heel. 
Tools: must have data cabling hand tools
