SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of a school administrator, the Playground Supervisor contributes to student safety by supervising students on campus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Engages with students in a positive manner;
● Monitors students on the playground and other areas of the campus;
● Informs students of, and enforces safety rules as necessary;
● Assist in campus supervision, monitoring student behavior and activity;
● Responds promptly in the event of injury or accident according to prescribed procedures;
● Works with the school administrator to participate actively in measures established for the safety of students;
● Notes and reports incidents of student misconduct or safety concerns to the site principal or designee;
● Participates in meetings as directed by the site principal or designee;
● Performs related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS /REQUIREMENTS:

KNOWLEDGE OF:
● Student safety practices;
● Correct methods of guiding and directing children;
● Basic First Aid procedures.
ABILITY TO:
● See and communicate with students;
● Stand, walk, kneel and bend at the waist;
● Provide guidance to students’ safety and behavior;
● Clearly communicate with students, the public, administrators, other school employees ;
● Build and maintain positive relations with students, staff, and the public;
● Establish and maintain effective relationships with administrators and employees.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education and experience which would indicate possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed above to perform the functions of the job.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

● Speak, read, write and understand sufficiently to successfully receive/provide information to/from students, supervisors, co-workers, the public, etc.
● Operate basic equipment as relevant to the position.
● Sufficient strength and agility to perform physical tasks required by the position including standing and/or walking for the entire work shift of approximately two hours, bending at the waist or kneeling periodically throughout the shift.
