Position Summary The Assistant Vice Provost of Admissions directs the administration and control of a major unit responsible for the admission of students for enrollment at UIC. This position is responsible for annual admissions planning, strategies and focus; oversight and direction for professional admissions staff; budget planning and management; staff training and supervision of 30 employees; provides oversight for special projects for the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management (EM); serves as point of contact for University of Illinois System requests for the EM division. Duties & Responsibilities
Interface with college deans, the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management (VPEM) and the Provost to establish and review campus admissions direction.
Direct and manage long and short-range planning for admissions.
Direct hiring of admissions staff, oversee training of staff, directly supervise all unit staff, and manage employment and staffing issues.
Develop strategic plans with admissions staff based on admissions data analytics and goals set in conjunction with the VPEM and college deans. Lead staff in the development of a university wide admissions plan and admissions strategy.
Initiate, manage and analyze research and data in support of admissions planning. Synthesize and share research and data with appropriate campus staff and units.
Coordinate local, state, national and international admissions plans and direct activity of all admissions staff.
Provide policy interpretation, procedural initiation, management, and the identification of needed policy changes with regard to admissions.
Participate in campus and external committees related to admissions and enrollment.
Provide leadership in the development and evaluation of admissions policies and procedures in conjunction with other EM executive directors.
Provide guidance and input to University of Illinois System requests as they relate to EM and university priorities
Provides oversight to special projects for EM, utilizing cross unit planning with data informed decision making
Serves as primary back-up for the VPEM
