Position Summary

Thedepartment of pediatrics, University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoriaand Children’s Hospital of Illinois at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center is seeking Pediatric Critical Care physicians withadditional cardiac training, extensive clinical experience with post-operativecardiac care, or dual training in cardiology and critical care for a positionas Assistant/Associate Professor of Pediatrics (tenure) or of ClinicalPediatrics (non-tenure) to enhance an 11 intensivists’ growing division.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Participate in undergraduate, graduate and continuing education programs of the Department.
• Provide consultation services for physicians and patients in the region requiring critical care services.
• Organize and conduct research programs in pediatric critical care medicine.
• Perform other duties of a University faculty member including committee assignments, curriculum development and administration.
• The position clinical duties include includes direct patient care to critically ill children, providing clinical consultation services for critically ill patients hospitalized in the unit including children with complex congenital heart disease, and provide consultation for physicians and patients in the region with problems requiring critical care.
• Provide a Medical Control role for the Critical Care Ground Transport Team when on clinical duty, as well as a limited commitment to a Procedural Sedation Service
• Duties also include teaching medical students, residents, and critical care fellows. An advanced Practice Providers-Critical care fellowship program also exists. and opportunities to pursue research, professional development, and fellows mentorship exist.
