Overview

SYSTEMS/NETWORK ENGINEER (CAPES):

Bowhead seeks a Systems/Network Engineer to support the CAPES 688th Cyberspace Wing contract located in San Antonio, TX. This requirement will support the 688th Cyberspace Wing as it evaluates, implements, and integrates capability in the form of A5, A8 and A9 support to achieve cyber warfare effects. Contractor support is required to assist the Government in Cyberspace Operations Planning, Requirements Systems Engineering, Enterprise Governance, Technical Writing and Editing, Cyberspace Weapons Systems Subject Matter Expertise, Cyberspace Enterprise Subject Matter Expertise, Data Science and Analysis, DevSecOps, Continuous Process Improvement, Innovation Management, Lessons Learned Management and Technical Advising.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes complex local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges and other devices.
• Resolves difficult interoperability problems to obtain operation across all platforms including e-mail, files transfer, multimedia, teleconferencing and the like.
• Configures systems to user environments.
• Supports acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services.
• May act as a technical project leader or provide work leadership for lower level employees.

Qualifications

• BS/A in relevant technical field PLUS five (5 ) years of relevant experience
• Intermediate-to-advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite—Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret level, may be required to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance upon hire. US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret clearance at this location.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
