We are currently seeking forward thinking and talented Special Education Certified Teachers at our Tumwater location, to play a key role in helping to build a dynamic employee culture where employees are engaged and find long-term success.
The Teacher educates students and administers policies and procedures relating to all phases of education in accordance with current state and federal special education standards. In addition, the Teacher is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising individualized direct care, educational group services, and activities for each assigned student or group. The position defines and implements education and behavior goals as a member of the academic team. As an active member of the team, this position provides continuous individualized student care, observation, interaction, documentation, and role modeling to students while under the direct supervision of the School Supervisor. Our Teachers are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher in education or related field. Masters Degree in Special Education preferred.
Experience: Two (2) years as an instructor in a Special Education classroom, preferred.
License: Valid teaching credential with an endorsement in Special Education is preferred.
Additional Requirements: Successful completion of CPR and First Aid certification. Successful completion of Handle With Care (HWC) and verbal de-escalation training. Successful completion of orientation training. May be required to work flexible hours. May require some travel.
