Responsibilities

Valley Hospital is a 122-bed psychiatric hospital located in Phoenix, Arizona. Valley Hospital provides patient-centered care delivered by compassionate staff trained in the mental health and chemical dependency fields. Valley features individual units for adults and offers inpatient acute care and intensive outpatient programs. We offer specialty programs including crisis stabilization, rehabilitation support in maintaining sobriety, and a women’s program to promote hope and healing. This is an Interim position covering a staff member on leave

Should the individual not return from leave, this position will become permanent

You will work a full-time schedule of 5 8-hour shifts per week (40 hours)

Summary:

The Nurse Manager is responsible for the clinical practice of nursing which includes directing all services provided by the Nursing Services Department. The Nurse Manager is responsible for ensuring coordinated delivery of patient care in accordance with the established standards of care, mental health practice and hospital policy, goals and objectives. This position assists in contributing to the hospital’s philosophy, objectives, educational and Performance & Improvement efforts, while providing supervision to the nursing staff assigned to his/her unit.

Qualifications

• Current unencumbered license to practice nursing in Arizona or compact privileges
• Current CPR or BLS certification
• Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card or the ability to obtain
• Preferred 2 to 3 years of experience working in a leadership role in a psychiatric inpatient setting
