POSITION SUMMARY: To provide therapeutic modes of respiratory treatments to all patients. In addition to duties of a certified respiratory therapist, may perform advanced diagnostic testing, patient assessment, and intervention. Serves as a preceptor for other therapists.

SEASONAL CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS:

• Term agreement: 6 months, can be renewed for additional 6 months
• Full time requirements: 36 hours/week, 72 hours/pay period
  • Night shift 1830-0700

RRT Requirements

• A minimum of an associate degree from a respiratory therapy education program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care unless licensure was obtained prior to November 11, 2009
• One year full time or three years part time experience in acute care setting preferred
• Licensed as a RRT by the Texas Medical Board and registered by NBRC
• AHA or ARC BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider card showing completion of cognitive and skills evaluation in accordance with the curriculum of AHA BLS (CPR & AED) program
• Must receive ACLS, PALS, and NRP within 90 days of employment
