Position Summary

The Activity Therapist conducts the activities of activity therapy in order to improve functioning and independence and to provide activity resources and opportunities for all patients with a focus on improving health and well-being.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Conducting an activities assessing on patients
• Conducting therapeutic activity groups
• Maintaining the health and safety of patients
• Completing and documenting evaluations of progress and participating in treatment team.

• Master’s Degree in Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Therapy or Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy required
• Two (2) years’ experience providing Activity Therapy. Prefer minimum of two (2) years in a psychiatric setting with children, adolescents and adult population
• Registered Art Therapist, Certified Music Therapist, Registered Occupational Therapist, Registered Physical Therapist or Certified Recreation Therapist required
• Working knowledge of activity therapy programming. Effective oral and written communication skills. Therapeutic Boundaries, Search and Contraband, Risk Management, Infection Control, Common Psychiatric Diagnoses, Fire Safety. Behavioral Management.
