Position Summary

The Pharmacist will be responsible for providing professional pharmacist functions with day-to-day oversight of all medication selection, procurement, storage, preparation, and dispensing of medications for the facility. Works closely with physician and nursing staff to ensure that patients receive optimal care.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Monitors and documents drug therapy regimens for contraindications, therapeutic duplications, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, drug-disease interactions, allergies, renal status of the patient, and appropriateness of drug and dose.
• Suggests appropriate, cost-effective therapeutic alternatives to staff, as needed
• Supervises and directs pharmacy support personnel.

Education: BS Pharmacy or Pharm D required

Experience: Minimum of 3 years pharmacy experience preferred

Age-Specific Competencies: N/A

Licensure/Certification: Current Pharmacist license from SC LLR Board of Pharmacy required. CPR preferred.

Other: Ability to maintain information as highly confidential; fiscal management and time management skills; Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

HIPAA: Has access to all PHI necessary to perform job functions of managing and directing department and assuring compliance with standards of care.
