This Clinical Registered Nurse Supervisor  opportunity is full time, offers full benefits and a convenient night shift schedule. This Clinical Registered Nurse Supervisor position is for our Medical Surgical Unit.This person will have dual functions, clinical and managerial. You will provide direct and indirect patient care in the clinical setting. You will communicate with physicians/nurse manager/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patent's clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Competent in the care of patients within the specialty area.
  • Provides direct and indirect patient care as necessary, assessing current patient care situations, priorities and needs.
  • Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes: pediatric, geriatric and the general patient population.
  • Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
  • Documentation meets current standards and policies.
  • Ability to revise plan of care as indicated by the patient’s response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness.
  • Ability to perform waived testing (point-of-care testing) per Clinical Laboratory’s and the resident care unit’s policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Current NV State Registered Nurse License
  • Current BLS
  • Current ACLS (or must be obtain within 6 months)
  • PALS certification may be required for specific departments (or must be able to obtain within six-months).
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing required or enrolled in an accredited program within one year of employment or transfer into supervisory role.
