Job Summary
The Manager of Operations is responsible for ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of the distribution system in their territory. Through the promotion and implementation of company initiatives and policies, the manager will be expected to lead their team in safety, efficiency, and reliability.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in establishing the area operating budget for utility operations and manage area performance to meet the budget.
- Manage area maintenance capital budget to ensure effective use of dollars while maintaining the integrity of the distribution system.
- Assist in measuring and prioritizing Area marketing and operating goals consistent with area key performance indicator objectives and requirements. Direct the operation to meet these goals.
- Provide area leadership to encourage interdepartmental communication and cooperation in support of the company objectives.
- Develop a strong supervisory team and promote individual growth and development among the operating section employees.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned (Ex. SME for Standards, PSMS, cross functional groups, etc.).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Proficient in all necessary computer-based platforms (Microsoft Suite, SAP, etc.).
- Good leadership, development, and team-building skills.
- Safe and fiscally-sound decision-making abilities.
- Working knowledge of ICS.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma.
- 5 years of progressive experience in the natural gas industry.
- Professional Certificates in relevant fields considered.
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License.
- Proof of continuing development a plus.
