Ensures the financial integrity of the UF Health Physicians by facilitating and supervising established financial processes that enable and expedite the billing and collection of professional services in their assigned practice. This includes entering charges, applying coding/billing rules, maximizing collections, verifying insurance, obtaining authorizations for services, reviewing patient account detail, resolving edits, working work queues and financial counseling of patients. Responsible for resolving complaints and issues and for patients relations. Provides problem resolution and direct supervision of assigned clerical staff, which includes scheduling staff, monitoring clinic flow, administering clinic policies, assigning/reassigning workload, providing input into an employee's performance evaluation, corrective actions, training, orienting new staff and participating in interviewing new staff.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a financial counselor preferred.
• Three years of business/financial/physician practice experience required, e.g., preferably related to patient accounts and collections.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9/10 coding preferred.
• Four-year degree may substitute for two years of financial/physician office experience.
• Associate's degree or equivalent coursework may substitute for one year of experience.
• Epic system knowledge preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills required.
• Incumbent must be comfortable collecting payments and counseling patients regarding financial matters in a professional manner.
• The ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, problem solve and function in a team environment are necessary attributes of the successful incumbent.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
