Required Education:
High school diploma or GED.
Necessary Skills:

• Must possess fundamental knowledge of the Baker Audio Phone/Radio System. Must be able to multi task and maintain composure during stressful times.
• Must maintain understanding of current Emergency Medical terminology, Fire/Rescue radio codes and signals, FCC rules and regulations, and FAA regulations relating to EMS.
• Must possess fundamental working knowledge of UHF/VHF radio equipment, portable radios, and radio recording devices.
• Requires basic computer skills and ability to operate multiple phone lines.

Required Licensure/Certifications:
Current Florida EMT Certification, current Florida Paramedic License, or Current NREMT Certification. Effective December 1st, 2014 existing employees must convert NREMT Certification to State of Florida Licensure by March 31st, 2015 and new hire/transfers must convert within 6 month of the date of hire or transfer.
OR
Current Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) Certification with one (1) year of emergency medical dispatcher experience.
Required Experience:
Less than one year of experience in a health care setting or EMS Communication setting with with EMT or Paramedic license
OR
1 year of emergency medical dispatcher experience with EMD certification.
Preferred Experience:
Previous experience as a dispatcher.
Preferred Licensure/Certifications:
NAACS Certification
