UF Health Shands Hospital is Hiring an Assistant Director, Audit Services Near Gainesville, FL

Job Opening Summary

The Audit Team Assistant Director reports to the Director of Audit Services with the following primary responsibilities:

  • Owns scheduling of annual audit and project plans, collaborating with team leads, Audit seniors and Audit staff with a focus on ensuring efforts are competently executed within methodologies and guidance defined by the Audit Director.
  • Monitors progress against plan completion, audit time budgets and other metrics set by the Audit Director.
  • Owns the operation of defined supervision and review practices.
  • Ensures audit/project-level feedback to Audit Team leads, Audit seniors and staff is formalized and provided to better enable annual performance reviews and inform training needs and opportunities.
  • Leads collaboration with other risk functions when audits or projects are integrated efforts.
  • Ensures adherence to professional practices and quality expectations by assisting the Audit Director in defining and monitoring audit policies, procedures and guidance materials.
  • Performs all expectations of an Audit Team lead, including direct auditing and supervising to increase productivity.
  • Takes on special assignments from the Audit Director, including representing him/her at management and board meetings as needed.

Job Opening Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or information technology.
  • Minimum of 7.5 years of experience in audit (internal audit or public accounting).
  • Strong knowledge of governance, risk management and internal control frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of the Global Internal Audit Standards.
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), COBIT and other IT standards.
  • Health care operations/health care audit experience of at least 2 years required.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with Epic, PeopleSoft, Kronos, ACL and TeamMate preferred.
Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:
Employees in this position will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a "frequent driver."
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
  • CIA, CPA or CISA required.

Shift hours: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday-Friday
