Under the guidance of the Corporate Director of Clinical Education, the Division Critical Care Clinical Educator serves as a mentor, instructor and role model for clinical staff. The Division Critical Care Clinical Educator provides new hire onboarding education, new team member orientation guidance and evaluation, preceptor education and support, and clinically relevant education for patient care staff in the classroom, simulation lab and clinical settings. The educator must have a thorough understanding of critical care nursing and and recent and relevant clinical experience in an ICU, as well as a demonstrated ability to effectively impart knowledge to others. Participation in American Heart Association certification classes as an instructor is required. Ability to evaluate clinician skills and orientee progress, and ability to provide guidance that assists patient caregivers to progress in their job performance are required. The Division Critical Care Clinical Educator will participate on committees and will contribute to the goals and vision of UFHCF. The educator will work collaboratively with the education team and clinical leaders to plan, implement and deliver educational programs that support evidence-based practice and UFHCF policies and procedures. The Division Critical Care Clinical Educator will need to travel between facilities frequently to promote systemwide education at each UFHCF critical care unit. This position demands independence in the role to create and manage projects, as well as adherence to department leadership requisites.
