Job Description/Summary: The Medical Social Services Clinical Supervisor provides strengths based, trauma-informed, clinical supervision to social workers in assigned services units throughout the hospital including off-site locations. Under the supervision of the Director of Social Services, the Medical Social Services Clinical Supervisor provides clinical and administrative supervision to professional social work staff conducting psychosocial assessment and treatment, crisis intervention, and discharge planning, within the context of a multi-disciplinary team. This position is responsible for the supervision and development of approximately 30 staff. Position Requirements: Minimum Education: Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) required Minimum Experience: 5 years post-Masters experience as a Medical Social Worker in a pediatric healthcare setting required. 2 or more years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker required. 2 or more years as a Medical Social Worker III preferred. 2 or more years of experience in a supervisory/leadership role preferred. License Required: Current licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) issued by the State of California Board of Behavioral Sciences Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrates ability to prioritize effectively to meet deadlines in a complex, challenging environment. Solid organizational and customer service skills to structure unit operations and lead assigned staff in an efficient and effective manner. Solid verbal and written communication skills to explain technical child development concepts, actively listen, persuade, advise, and counsel. Advanced clinical skills with practical knowledge of social work theories, principles and techniques; Federal, State and local laws, health care setting rules and regulations. LEAN Management and Active Daily Engagement Skills within 6 months of hire Technical Knowledge: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Prior experience with electronic medical records required. Proficiency using EPIC for patient clinical documentation preferred.
