In your role as a Registered Nurse, you will:

· Administer medications and treatment as prescribed by Physicians

· Supervise and train direct care staff regarding medication administration, universal precautions, infection control, health/safety issues, etc.

· Implement guidance policy as appropriate to address medication errors or violations of health and safety procedures by direct care staff.

· Ensure maintenance and review of all medical records per state and federal guidelines and UCP policy.

· Meet regularly with team members to review current issues.

· Ensure all indicated and annual medical appointments and lab work are scheduled and followed-up appropriately

· Monitor/review medication administration record, recording of medications, medication orders, labels, etc.; Ensure an adequate supply of medication on hand.

· Monitor/maintain an adequate supply of medical goods and equipment, as well as first aid supplies.

· Complete all paperwork as assigned by director of Residential Services

· Document medical and pharmacological services and issues. Ensure pharmacy review of medication every 90 days.

· Provide yearly recertification, including practicum, to each (AMAP) medication certified aide, and to certify staff in tube feeding, colostomy care and diabetes care.

We require:

  • New York State RN Licensure
  • Associates degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience and/or training
  • Knowledge of regulations.
