UCP of Long Island is Hiring an Employment Assessment and Training Manager Near Hauppauge, NY

Supervise and deliver Vocational Employment Assessments, Training and Related Employment Services to individuals with disabilities.

  • Hands on assessment, training and counseling of individuals with disabilities.
  • Provides instruction and training programs to address work readiness skills and/or job-specific skills. May be required to drive clients to work/assessment sites in agency vehicle.
  • Responsible for all paperwork, tracking and program evaluations, strategic planning and quality assurance of services.
  • Responsible for implementation of all required regulations and documentation, including but not limited to ACCESS VR, OPWDD, Dept of Labor, and all other applicable Federal, State and local agencies.
  • Effectively recommends hiring/discharge/disciplinary/performance review processes of employees.
  • Participate and representation at community meetings and presentation for customer-based marketing. Manage outreach and ongoing communication with school district personnel to coordinate service delivery through contract funding to increase service provision.
  • Enhance the self-advocacy efforts of individuals with disabilities including facilitation, support and training.
  • Coordination of services with community resources, other departments, case managers and rehabilitation team members including strong follow-up procedures.
  • Facilitate and deliver pre-employment and transition services in facility and in the community and adjust curriculum, materials and resources to meet the needs of students serviced.
  • Super staff proficiencies in the delivery of assessments services, develop and deliver training to promote success.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling or related area and one year experience in vocational rehabilitation or other suitable fields; or a bachelor's degree and three years of related vocational experience.

Experience in counseling and training of individuals with developmental disabilities and acquired disabilities/and or those with similar barriers.

Must have a clean and valid NYS Driver's License.
