DescriptionThe Nurse Professional Development Specialist (NPDS) coordinates student placement, preceptor development, and EKG education and is a registered nurse whose practice is clinical nursing education and who oversees required education, competency, training, and professional development for nursing staff in the UCLA Health system. The role encompasses the delivery of clinician (primarily nursing), professional/leadership development, policies, activities, assessment tools, and system; promotes excellence in patient care, through skill acquisition in evidence based nursing practice and clinical inquiry; collaborates with nursing leadership (Unit Director, Clinical Nurse Specialist, and Nursing Professional Development Specialists) to deliver educational programs and secure resources based on needs assessments and adult learning theory; and meets the diverse requirements of the nursing units, patient populations, regulatory and accreditation and strategic goals of the organization/health system. Salary range : $105,200 - $250,600 annually
