Uceda School of Kirkman is Hiring an ESL Program Coordinator at UCEDA SCHOOL of Kirkman (in-person only) Near Orlando, FL

UCEDA School's mission is to provide English language programs and services to international and local students. Our main goal is to equip students with English language skills. UCEDA School achieves its mission through the implementation of the curriculum and student services.

UCEDA SCHOOL of Kirkman is looking for a qualified in-person ESL Academic Coordinator to work during morning or evening hours.

Requirements:
Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degrees en ESL/EFL.

In cases where the bachelor’s or master’s degree is not in ESL/EFL, language teaching faculty must have a specific knowledge base and skill set that includes, at a minimum, the following:

  • Language teaching methodologies
  • The nature of language/languages (e.g., introduction to linguistics)
  • The structure of English (e.g., syntax, phonology, morphology, discourse)
  • Second language acquisition
  • Intercultural communication (e.g., sociolinguistics, cross-cultural studies)
  • Practicum experience

Hourly Rate:
$23 per hour at campus location

Schedule: Part time Monday through Thursday
Morning: 8am - 1:00 pm

and / or
Evening: 6 PM - 10:30 PM

Responsibilities:

Coordinate ​all ​day-to-day ​academic ​and ​administrative ​activities, ​which ​include ​and ​are ​not ​limited ​to:

  • ​Maintain ​a ​list ​of ​available ​instructors ​for ​new ​classes ​and ​for ​substitutions.
  • ​Cover ​classes ​during ​emergency ​situations
  • ​Manage ​initiation ​of ​new ​courses ​and ​maintain ​a ​calendar ​for ​new ​classes
  • ​Prepare ​and ​coordinate ​the ​weekly ​class ​schedule ​and ​weekly ​updates
  • ​Monitor ​all ​teaching ​activities ​in ​the ​classroom ​and ​ensure ​all ​classes ​are ​delivered ​following ​Uceda ​School’s ​policies.
  • ​Monitor ​teachers’ ​attendance ​& ​lateness
  • ​Arrange ​coverage ​for ​teacher ​lateness/absences
  • ​Monitor ​student ​grades ​and ​academic ​progress ​in ​CUSMS
  • ​Administer ​written ​and ​oral ​placement ​tests ​for ​all ​new ​students
  • ​Advise ​and ​counsel ​students ​in ​regards ​to ​academic ​progress, ​class ​changes, concerns, ​etc. ​Make ​sure ​all ​classes ​take ​their ​final ​tests ​according ​to ​Uceda ​School’s ​final ​exam ​policies ​and procedures. ​Supervise ​the ​curriculum ​set ​by ​Uceda ​School
  • ​Merge ​classes ​which ​have ​a ​weekly ​attendance ​average ​of ​5 ​or ​below
  • ​Make ​sure ​teachers ​make ​certain ​that all ​his/her ​students ​attend ​classes ​with ​the required ​textbook/s. ​Ensure ​teachers ​retain ​and ​maintain ​their ​students. ​If ​there ​are ​student ​retention ​issues, ​ensure corrective ​measures ​are ​taken ​immediately. Ensure ​new ​instructors ​get ​acquainted ​with: ​policy, ​rules, ​regulations ​and ​pacing ​for ​lessons ​and ​that ​new ​instructor ​read ​the ​necessary ​material ​relative ​to ​the ​organization​and ​their ​duties.
  • See ​to ​the ​implementation ​of ​materials ​in ​order ​to ​have ​dynamic ​and ​interactive ​classes Actively ​participate ​in ​the ​new ​ideas ​and ​implementation ​of ​new ​and ​better ​learning materials, ​as ​well ​as, ​development ​of ​curriculum ​and ​syllabus.
  • Maintain ​constant ​communication ​with ​students, ​both ​international ​Ss, ​(I-20’s), ​and ​local ​students ​in ​order ​to ​help ​with ​problems ​in ​the ​classroom. ​Check ​that ​Ss ​are ​satisfied ​with ​their ​teacher/s ​and ​the ​overall ​service ​of ​the ​school. ​(Make ​sure ​you ​do ​not ​overextend ​your ​time ​talking ​to ​Ss). ​Be ​succinct ​and ​direct. ​Avoid ​personal ​conversations.
  • Offer ​international ​Students (I-20’s) ​guidance ​and ​counseling ​in ​regards ​to ​the ​courses ​they​ need ​to ​take ​and ​in ​their ​academic ​progress. Serve ​as ​a ​liaison ​between ​the ​administration ​/ ​PDSO ​& ​DSO ​and ​international ​students ​(I-20) ​in ​order ​to ​ensure ​compliance ​of ​SEVIS ​rules ​and ​to ​make ​sure ​that ​international ​and ​local ​Students ​follow ​Uceda ​School ​policies ​and ​procedures. ​Form ​and ​chair ​committee/s ​and ​coordinate ​assigned ​projects ​related ​to ​accreditation​ and ​the ​self ​study ​process. ​Check ​email ​every ​morning ​and ​throughout ​the ​day ​regularly. ​Reply ​to ​emails ​requiring ​a ​reply ​from ​your ​office ​within ​maximum ​24 ​hours. ​Regularly ​and ​effectively ​communicate ​and ​report ​to ​National ​Director ​and ​Executive Director/s. No relocations. LOCAL candidates only.
