Position description

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) (http://www-pediatrics.ucsd.edu) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. The Section of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics (DBP) in the Division of Academic General Pediatrics, Newborn Medicine, and Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics has an opening at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor Level. We are seeking outstanding, experienced Developmental-Behavioral Pediatricians to join our dynamic academic program.

The UCSD Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics program emphasizes excellence in medical education, clinical care, and research. The work in all three areas is multidisciplinary and emphasizes community outreach and involvement. Our accredited DBP fellowship program involves close collaboration with DBP at the United States Naval Medical Center San Diego and Kaiser Permanente. Our physicians care for patients at multiple clinical sites and programs including the UCSD DBP Consultation Clinic, the San Diego Regional Center (Early Intervention and program for children and adults with developmental disabilities), the High-Risk Infant Follow-Up Clinic, the Down Syndrome Clinic and KidSTART program at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego, and the DBP Clinic at the San Ysidro Health Center (a federally-qualified health center on the US-Mexico border). We are a rapidly growing program with opportunities for leadership and program development and ample research opportunities and collaborators are available through our academic and community networks.

The ideal candidates will be responsible for providing clinical service and quality management, scholarly work, and teaching and training of fellows, residents, and medical students. Opportunities exist to collaborate at UCSD and Rady Children's Hospital in research endeavors, development of clinical programs, and other programmatic initiatives.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience.
