About the Role
The Risk team at Uber builds the foundation which ensures that we handle risk and fraud for all the 60 markets that Uber is available in. Crafting risk management products which handles the risk exposure across payments, riders and eaters incentives and promotion fraud, along with other fraudulent activities such as collusion - these are for the business to deliver their P&L and profitability goals, while continuing to deliver on the 'magical experience' that our users are accustomed to is core to this charter.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Product Manager to own the Spender Marketplace Risk product roadmap for Uber. You will be responsible to define one of the fundamental components of the risk management systems at Uber! The role demands a deep background in product management, data science, leadership skills, the ability to operate in a highly technical environment, the ability to do user research and work collaboratively across many stakeholders.
What Candidate will do
Set out the northstar for Spender Marketplace Risk components which will cover Spender Fraud, Promo Abuse, etc. Candidate will be responsible for building out the risk management capabilities to mitigate spender fraud and abuse.
The candidate will work on spender marketplace risk management charters which will include:
  • Spender Marketplace Risk foundational work
  • Refund fraud on Delivery, Mobility and new emerging businesses
  • Promo and Incentive abuse
  • Work on building ML solutions to detect and mitigate fraud
  • Basic Qualifications
    • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or similar, a Masters degree is preferred.
    • 5 years experience as a Product Manager.
    • Domain expertise in risk, payments, identity or trust and safety within a marketplace type environment.
    • Excellent track record of working with engineering, data, and ML teams, with solid examples to prioritize work across the team.
    Prefered Qualifications
    • Relevant payments, risk, fintech, experience, with global risk management experience being a plus.
    • Strong written and verbal interpersonal skills with a confirmed ability to influence partners.
    • Proven ability to develop deep customer empathy and articulate customer problems.
    For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$157,000 per year - USD$174,500 per year.
    For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$174,000 per year - USD$193,500 per year.
    For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$174,000 per year - USD$193,500 per year.
    For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$174,000 per year - USD$193,500 per year.
    For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$174,000 per year - USD$193,500 per year.
