This classification is responsible for coordinating certain aspects of clinical and administrative patient services. Serves as patient advocate. Answers patient inquiries verbally or in writing. Resolves patient problems. Disseminates information relating to clinic operations. Maintains patient records. Responsible for the conduct of patient scheduling, reception and other front office operations.
Under minimal supervision, responsible for coordinating certain aspects of clinical and administrative patient services and for providing responsible administrative duties in support of physician staff and operations. Responsible for processing and handling duties relating to patient insurance requirements and/or disability requirements. Responsible for the conduct of patient scheduling. Coordinates outpatient scheduling and facilitates in-patient pre-certification and admitting processes as necessary. Serves as an advocate for patient and patient family. Answers patient and patient family inquiries verbally or in writing. Assists in resolving patient issues. Responsible for tracking and maintaining documentation of referring MD to assist in patient follow-up. Performs other clerical duties in support of specific departmental functions.

Position Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Two (2) years office/clerical experience in customer service, call center, physician office or other clinical environment. Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills; excellent customer service and communication skills.
Must: (1) Attend all required course work assigned by management; (2) possess basic knowledge of medical terminology and advanced knowledge of PC applications, software, and database management; (3) be able to perform math & bookkeeping skills; (5) possess exceptional telephone & customer service skills; and (5) be knowledgeable of English grammar & punctuation
Preferred: Business Office Education or similar coursework desired.
