UAB Medicine - UA Health Services Foundation... is Hiring a Clinical Administrative Associate - Children's of Alabama South Near Birmingham, AL

Schedule: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
Location: Children's of Alabama South Acton Road
Responsible for overseeing the coordination of smooth clinical operations within the Pediatric Dermatology Division. Provides clinical administrative and clerical support to physicians. Follows established guidelines or protocols. Assists in the preparation for outpatient clinics, including communicating with outside physicians referring patients and with patient families. May act as a communication liaison and special events planner for the division. Interfaces with outside resources such as alumni, patients, or with continuing education students. May be responsible for adherence to program budget and/or other fiscal duties.
May be responsible for schedule management for providers and other office or clinical staff. Acts at times as the communication liaison between UAB Department of Pediatrics and Children’s of Alabama (COA) entities. Communication includes exchange of information to and from office staff, providers, clinical staff, and other partners of the two facilities.

Position Requirements:
Required: This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. An undergraduate degree preferred. Five years’ progressively responsible secretarial experience required. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited post secondary educational institution may substitute for up to three years’ experience requirement. 50 wpm accurate typing required as a minimum. Require experience with word processing systems, software packages, knowledge of bookkeeping practices and/or budget/financial experience. May also require medical/scientific terminology.
Preferred: Prior experience with EPIC scheduling. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Must be self-directed / self-motivated; must have good communication and interpersonal skills. (5) convey empathy and compassion to those experiencing pain, physical or emotional distress and/or grief; (6) relate to others in a manner which creates a sense of teamwork and cooperation; (7) communicate effectively with people from every socioeconomic, cultural and educational background; (8) exhibit flexibility and cope effectively in an ever-changing, fast-paced healthcare environment; (9) perform effectively when confronted with emergency, critical, unusual or dangerous situations; and (10) demonstrate the quality work ethic of doing the right thing the right way.
