Working as part of a cross functional team, you deliver the RDQ activities required to complete Packaging Design and Packaging Deployment for Innovation/Growth projects and productivity projects across multiple geographies with an emphasis on delivering the desired consumer experience. How you will contribute You will independently coordinate technical work for projects in line with R&D, marketing and manufacturing requirements, effectively communicating status and risks, and coordinate projects to determine appropriate packaging specification information using sampling and supplier management and pilot-plant and factory trials in accordance with good manufacturing practice and HACCP requirements. In this role, you will also develop activities such as pack‐ aging design and specifications, scale up, commissioning, etc., and plan for the effective use of resources including the use of external agencies and suppliers. To succeed in this role, you will use your understanding of equipment design and manufacturing processes to ensure that packaging specifications are deter‐ mined with excellence. You will be accountable for stakeholder management and influencing decisions based on conclusions derived from the analysis and interpretation of results; develop and leverage connections both internally and with the external technical community; and create intellectual property to drive competitive advantage. Leading teams and influencing cross-functional teams. Influencing senior and cross-functional stakeholders verbally and in writing, including writing technical reports. Coaching and mentoring others. More about this role What you need to know about this position: This is a Packaging Development R&D position in the NA Ventures Team supporting Perfect Snacks based in East Hanover, NJ. This role is responsible for delivering packaging development and commercialization for innovation, core renovation, new package sizes/formats into various channels and margin enhancement. The individual must possess experience in the package development process from concept initialization through commercialization in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills needed managing key stakeholder- business and commercialization leaders in the venture companies and external partners. What extra ingredients you will bring: • Knowledge in packaging materials, equipment and evaluations is necessary. Apply technical knowledge to projects working closely with internal and co-manufacturers providing technical based solutions. • Define and develop packaging material specifications develop and conduct testing plans. Define critical criteria for in plant testing and defect levels. Outline critical parameters and procedures working closely with the quality teams. • Ability to stand alone and provide technical leadership on commercialization projects for internal and external manufacturing with technical rigor and executional excellence. • Drive for Results skilled in the processes and best practices that get tasks done in the company with sold project management skills. Education / Certifications: B.S or M.S. Packaging or Mechanical Engineering Job specific requirements: The individual must possess strong technical skills, analytical ability and the capability to handle multiple projects at the same time. A minimum of 3 yrs. experience is required preferably in the food industry with a proven track record of leading successful plant commercialization for RD&Q. This candidate must demonstrate leadership and the ability to be a strong team player representing our technical organization.
