Mondelez is looking for an experienced SAP Indirect Tax and Vertex Functional Lead to join our growing team. This position requires a solid background in finance and taxation, as well as technical knowledge of SAP, LCR Dixon and Vertex systems for the US and Canada. Within the SAP Platform, the Indirect Tax S4Hana Technical Delivery Lead will assume responsibility for leading and developing new solutions or enhancing existing solutions in the NA (US and Canada) Indirect Tax product areas to address the tax application testing across this tax product domain. They will partner and build key relationships with the Finance, and the Tax Management Line leads to lead the delivery of our technical solutions for the company’s Indirect Tax in the US and Canada. They will address emerging automation and analytical needs of the Indirect Tax Team. They will gain a deep understanding of the business processes, systems, and data that support strategic processes and programs related to our Indirect Tax product group. They will deliver robust technology solutions. They will also share knowledge and mentor others in areas of technical expertise. For US and Canada. You, the Indirect Tax S4H Technical Delivery Lead will ensure that we comply with all local indirect taxes including sales tax, and excise tax, and business license through 3rd party among others. You will also ensure the timely filing of returns and payments, so we comply with local regulations and ensure the accurate and timely reporting of our financial statements. To succeed in this role, you must understand the accounting entries for these taxes and ensure we are accounting appropriately. Understand implementations of Vertex, LCR Dixon and SAP (S4Hana) implementation, upgrades and user acceptance testing during any upgrade or implementation. In some cases, you may deal directly with local tax authorities to handle snap audits and to help prepare documentation to support them. How you will contribute: This position requires a solid background in finance and taxation, as well as technical knowledge of SAP, LCR Dixon and Vertex systems. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology and a drive to stay current with the latest trends and methodologies in the field. They should be creative problem-solvers who can work independently and as part of a team. We are looking for a professional with a strong background in SAP, LCR Dixon and Vertex, who has a proven track record of successful implementations and a commitment to delivering excellence. The successful candidate will have experience in developing strategies for complex business processes and have a strong understanding of the indirect tax landscape. Responsibilities: Develop strategies for complex business processes related to indirect taxes. Implement SAP and Vertex systems to support the indirect tax landscape. Collaborate with team members to ensure successful implementations. Monitor industry trends and methodologies related to SAP and Vertex systems. Provide technical expertise to ensure system compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Communicate effectively with stakeholders and colleagues. Take ownership of projects and ensure their successful completion and troubleshoot any problems that may arise during implementation. Provide training and support to team members as needed. You may also be asked to support the indirect tax process including preparation of tax returns, processing of payments and filing. You will also execute or oversee the timely filing of returns and payments to ensure full compliance with local regulations. In addition, you will understand and prepare monthly balance sheet and P&L reconciliation for indirect tax relevant accounts. Support a strong controls and compliance environment within the Indirect Tax team and ensure full compliance with our AER policies. You will also ensure that we comply with all indirect tax local laws and regulations in your area of responsibility. Implement efficient tax management strategies to optimize tax payments within the legal framework. You will also provide and interpret data from accounting records as required. You will bring experience and knowledge in: TECHNICAL EXPERTISE in indirect taxes with deep subject matter knowledge and background in associated local GAAP, account analysis reporting and closing processes. Solid knowledge of local indirect tax regulation and laws. Solid knowledge in policy, controls and compliance design including SOX reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and financial system knowledge and implementation in SAP, LCR Dixon and Vertex is a must. Exposure or knowledge of Avalara is a plus. BUSINESS ACUMEN and understanding of our business and finance beyond indirect tax scope. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or Economics 6 or more years of Indirect Tax experience Strong finance and taxation background SAP (S4Hana) experience and Vertex is required Experience in developing strategies for complex business processes Combination of experience in a Big 4 Accounting firm, in-house at a large multi-national corporation or internationally recognized law firm Experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) experience is a plus Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills are required Strong technical skills No Relocation support available Business Unit Summary The United States is the largest market in the Mondelēz International family with a significant employee and manufacturing footprint.
