Duties

Serves as Digital Marketing Specialist within the Business and Support Services Division (MR), Headquarters Marine Corps. The incumbent shall be responsible for but not limited to the following duties: based on art direction provided, responsible for creating visual elements and content for marketing campaigns including email advertising, digital media, and social media platforms. Initiates, develops, and designs artistic concepts from customer input and translates it into marketable advertising media campaigns in direct support of the Marine Corps Exchange as well as other branches of the Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS). Develops and maximizes traffic to MCCS businesses and social media sites through direct marketing, and other online advertising and social networking opportunities. Creates, facilitates, and participates effectively and authentically in key conversations on social media channels.

Based on art direction provided, responsible for development, execution, and production of new artwork designs for multi-media marketing campaigns across the organization.

Contributes to ongoing integrated development of the overall strategic plan of social media presence to drive MCCS brand awareness and grow revenue for MCCS businesses. Develops and manages the content and editorial calendar for all social media channels, keeping all channels active and engaged. Ensures brand consistency in all content. Proactively analyzes traffic and makes adjustments as needed. Assists in coordinating efforts with all command Marketing Departments to utilize social media for proactive corporate messaging in conjunction with broader digital marketing activities. Formulates and manages virtual event marketing campaigns with the focus of driving foot traffic to MCCS businesses.

Creates actionable plans to increase traffic to all digital assets and grow followers on all social media platforms. Tracks, analyzes, and reports on campaign metrics for all forms of digital and social media marketing to guide improvements of future campaigns and direction. Provides ongoing reports on campaign success to marketing team at HQ and installations.

Research new techniques for reaching customers through social media networks, digital marketing campaigns, and other techniques. Develops strategies, manages, and executes the integration of new media channels to existing media to maximize productivity. Constantly improves the MCCS social media strategy by leveraging innovative technologies and business practices. Stays up to date on the latest social media best practices and technologies.

Responsible for HQ email marketing campaign. Meets with internal departments to establish calendar. Creates internal templates and works with all parties to ensure content is collected. Packages materials and submits to Production Company. Proofs all emails for correct content, brand consistency and appropriate marketing elements. Conceptualizes and creates separate and unique email advertising campaigns utilizing Adobe Creative Suite¿ and CRM tools. Executes and broadcasts finalized campaigns to targeted email database audiences using ExacTarget¿ software systems.

Makes necessary changes, updates, and additions to Marine Corps Exchanges HQ website. Meets with internal branches and organizations, as well as external constituents regarding project specifications, including content, graphic direction, materials selection, output recommendations, timelines, and media requirements.

Utilizes Adobe Creative Suite¿ to create artwork for multi-modal campaigns including print, digital, collateral, and new technologies that become available. Develops artwork into camera-ready print files of both spot-color, and CMYK color, supported through knowledge of the offset and digital printing processes. Participates in proofing contractor work, managing production timelines with contractors, and coordinating campaign execution across the enterprise.

Selects, analyzes, recommends, and obtains cost estimates from outside vendors for approved project services such as photographers, product manufacturers, and printers. Prioritizes, tracks, handles, and maintains records of the elements, costs, and timelines of multiple projects while working within a defined budget.

May photograph or video on-site projects using photography or filming knowledge and skills. Utilizes photo or video editing software for color correction and image manipulation on all final projects to support pre-press standards. Selects and purchases stock photography for advertising materials and manages a full photo library. Archives and maintains digital copies of final, completed artwork, photography, and video files.

Performs other related duties as assigned. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required.

EVALUATIONS:

Qualifications

Bachelor¿s degreefrom an accredited college or university in Graphic Art, Commercial Art or a related field appropriate to work of the position; OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above; OR three years of practical experience in an advertising environment that demonstrates that the applicant has acquired the knowledge, skills, and abilities equivalent to that gained in the above.

Must have proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Premier Pro and Adobe Acrobat Pro) and CRM/Marketing campaign software such as ExacTarget. Proficiency in Microsoft business software is essential. Knowledge of and experience with content management systems. Experience in videography and video editing from raw and stock is highly desired.

Eligible for incremental telework as determined by MR/MF policy.
