Summary

The Office of Human Resource is hiring a Research Assistant to create recommendations for learning and development protocols with an emphasis on needs assessment and evaluation.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 hour

Work Schedule: An average of 20 hours per week

Work Location: This position is based at USIP's Washington, D.C., headquarters.

Expected Project Dates: May-August

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts research and produces summaries for internal decision-making on issues related to design, implementation, and evaluation of learning activities.
  • Create a prototype for a learning resource portal based on the core content of USIP training.
  • Analyses qualitative and quantitative data and creates reports summarizing the results.
  • Provides support for virtual and hybrid learning events, including online event logistics and follow-up. And develops appealing and informative promotional materials for learning events.
  • Participate in and support initiatives to increase practical application of peer learning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidates must be a current, full-time university student studying education, instructional design, leadership and management, or other related subjects.
  • Preferred familiarity with contemporary leadership and learning and development practices.
  • Preferred familiarity with international NGOs and development and/or foreign affairs issues.
  • Excellent written communication skills – the ability to prepare drafts quickly, and to write in an accessible way for non-expert audiences.
  • Strong research skills – the ability to find information quickly, to analyze based on guidance and priorities, and to summarize and synthesize findings in useful formats.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong interpersonal skills.

USIP's Research Assistant program is administered through the Consortium of Universities. Any full-time university students (local or remote) are eligible for these openings.
