Position: Buyer/Planner

The Buyer/Planner at USDE (US Door Equipment Corp) & CE(Columbia Elevator) is responsible for effectively managing the procurement process, ensuring the timely acquisition of materials, components, and services required for production or operation. This role involves strategic planning, purchasing, inventory management, and collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers to meet USDE & CE’s objectives.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Source, negotiate, and procure materials, components, and services required for production or operation.
• Evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and reliability.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise.
• Monitor market trends, price fluctuations, and supply chain disruptions to mitigate risks and optimize purchasing decisions.
• Collaborate with material planning and inventory team, support solve any material shortage and inaccurate inventory.
• Manage all international logistics and import procedures.
• Work at both facilities, Oxford, CT & Bridgeport CT.
• Other duties and/or special projects may be assigned as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
• Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems (Epicor knowledge is a plus).
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Hours: Monday-Friday: 7am-3:30pm.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
