U.S. Census Bureau is Hiring an Administrative Technician (OA) Near Philadelphia, PA

Duties
  • Computes, audits and certifies employee payroll records.
  • Research payroll records and making corrections to keying errors.
  • Prepares travel orders, coordinates with travel agents and collects receipts. Reviews and audits vouchers.
  • Performs various personnel activities such as, initiating personnel actions and requesting and returning certificates from Office of Personnel Management (OPM).
  • Conducts personnel reference and record checks.

  • A probationary period may be required.
  • This is a NON-BARGAINING unit position.
  • Relocation expenses will not be paid.
  • This position may be ELIGIBLE for telework; additional criteria will be required (e.g., supervisory approval).
  • The work schedule for this position is Mixed Tour. With a Mixed Tour work schedule, an employee may be changed between full-time, part-time and intermittent work schedules to accommodate fluctuating workloads and is subject to a signed agreement.

If you are not eligible under this announcement, please see 24-PHI RO-12418108-IMP-NJ.Minimum Education RequirementTo be minimally qualified for this position, applicants MUST have a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute with three or fewer errors based on a five-minute sample.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-5, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-4 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes:
Performing a variety of administrative tasks associated with maintaining and supporting the work performed within an organization which includes performing technical administrative tasks in the areas of correspondence management; office automation, data collection, and tracking information; calendar and meeting management; serving as Point of Contact for an organizational unit; and performing specialized office tasks in support of a unit.

Education: Bachelor's degree or four years above high school leading to a bachelor's degree.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer.
