Position Overview:

As the Vice President of Business Development you will play a pivotal role in establishing and executing strategies to penetrate and dominate the professional height safety market. Leveraging your deep industry knowledge, you will lead the company’s sales and channel strategy, develop this expansion into this business channel. Create relationships with distributors by cultivating relationships, all to drive revenue growth as we prepare to enter this market with our patented technology. This role demands a strong leader capable of developing and implementing a comprehensive sales strategy to win in this market segment new to our business.

Responsibilities:

Channel Strategy Development:

  • Develop and implement a robust sales strategy for entry into the professional height safety market, aligning with overall company objectives.
  • Analyze competitor activities and market dynamics to inform strategic decision-making, product, and market positioning.
  • Define short-term and long-term goals, establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success; build budget and resourcing plan.
  • Partner with product, operations and marketing teams to ready product for market, leveraging voice of customer and market opportunities.

Sales and Revenue Generation:

  • Business development leadership, establishing direct account relationships, delivering revenue targets by leading entry into the professional height safety market.
  • Identify and pursue strategic partnerships, alliances, and business opportunities to drive sales and market share.
  • Capable process manager and developer of infrastructure to support business and funnel development, and support client management and service support.
  • Player coach role with accountability for initial business development and key accounts. Over time will develop lead gen and account management teams.

Relationship Building:

  • Leverage industry network and relationships with key stakeholders, customers, and potential partners to build HRT brand and customer base.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a unified approach in product development, marketing, and sales.
  • Brand and product ambassador at conferences/industry events, etc.

Product Development/ Marketing Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the product development team to ensure our offerings meet the needs and compliance standards of the professional height safety market.
  • Provide market-driven insights to guide product enhancements and innovations.
  • Collaborate with marketing to ensure messaging and marketing strategy are aligned with sales efforts for the market.

Team Leadership:

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a small, high-performing sales team focused on driving revenue within the professional height safety market.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented culture cross functionally, promoting continuous improvement and professional growth.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of successful sales and business development in the height safety market in large regional or national role.
  • Extensive experience in sales, channel development, market analysis, and relationship management; experience with new category development/early stage businesses. preferred.
  • Strong thought leadership and builder of process and teams.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and key players within the professional height safety industry.
  • Experience scaling an earlier stage business and/or opening new sales channels

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in sales/business development with extensive experience within the height safety market.
  • 7 years of experience leading professional sales teams
