JOB DESCRIPTION
SECURITY GUARD
BASIC FUNCTION
Maintain security of the building and maintains and operate fire fighting equipment when necessary.
REPORTING LINE
Reports to Security Supervisor
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains security watches at the building entrance and patrols the building to ensure the safety of
- residents, noting and correcting irregularities (i.e., opened doors, windows, etc.)
- Maintains visitors’ logs.
- Inspects and maintains security equipment as directed.
- Assists in fire drills as directed. Performs daily checks of fire safety equipment, logging
- conditions encountered, and filling out service requests as needed.
- Assists residents and staff, as needed to maintain the orderly function of the residence.
- Demonstrate basic computer skills.
- Assists Residence Manager in the management of residents’ emergencies.
- Participate in and pass yearly basic CPR courses.
- Hold an NYS security license and related security training.
High School Diploma or GED preferred with at least 1-year experience.
