The Interpreter will facilitate effective communication between two parties that do not speak the same language by converting one spoken language to another.

Interpreting services include but are not limited to Employment, Training & Orientation, Meetings, Human Resources, Health Services and other operational activities as assigned.

This position is held to a strict code of confidentiality. The interpreter must be willing to work in all environments of the facility.

REQUIREMENTS :

• Confidentiality is a requirement due to high volume of sensitive material.
• Candidate must pass a verbal and written exam.

Education :

High school degree or equivalent is preferred but not required.

Experience :

• Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing facility translating verbally and written documents for production, safety, occupational health, FSQA, and HR.
• Applicants must be fluent in Spanish and English.
• Skilled in accurate interpretation of conversations and documents.
• Must be able to communicate and translate effectively both verbal and written format from English and Spanish or vice versa.

Communication Skills :

• Must have strong verbal communication skills in their dominant language and the English language.
• Must agree to sign a confidentiality agreement.

Special Skills :

• Must be able to work independently with little to no supervision, while at the same time be a member of team to coordinate and provide support as needed.
• Must be able to demonstrate strong organizational, decision making, and follow-up skills.
• Basic computer and typing skills preferred.
• The Interpreter is expected to use dictionaries and glossaries for reference in order to communicate a clear and concise message.
• Must carry a valid driver's license.

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS :

• For locations with an 8 point attendance policy, TM’s must not have 4 or more attendance points.
• No written warning in the past six (6) months
• No suspension on record for the last 12 months
