SUMMARY 1 2 Maintenance Training Program
Get paid while you learn a trade. Earn maintenance pay plus attendance incentive while being enrolled in the Electromechanical Technology Program at Northeast Community College four mornings per week and working at Tyson Foods’ Madison, Nebraska, location in the afternoons and evenings.
Coursework paid by Tyson Foods.
Intent of the position is to educate and train Tyson students in the electro-mechanical maintenance and engineering field.
Interested Team Members may apply for and, if selected, participate in the Program, consisting of coursework conducted in a classroom setting at NECC and on the job training and experience at Tyson in the area.
Positions are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. This includes repairing and maintaining the operating conditions of the machinery and Industrial equipment used in the pork processing industry, troubleshooting problems that occur in the day- to-day operation of the facility.
The position requires performing work involving hydraulics, electrical, plumbing, conveyor maintenance, 3-phase wiring, AC / CD control wiring, welding and pneumatic systems.
The Team Member will also set up, adjust and break down production line machinery and complete daily documentation that is required.
Strong oral communication and sound decision-making skills. Ability to work with little or no supervision. Must be willing and able to work in all environments of our processing facility such as Harvesting, Cut / Converting, Rendering and Load-out areas.
Must be willing and able to work around the sight and the smell of meat products or any other product present when processing meat.
Ability and willingness to work varied shifts and extended hours including weekends.
Candidates who have previously been employed with Tyson have a 90-day waiting period.
REQUIREMENTS :
Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma, GED or equivalent required
Commit to working full-time at Tyson in Madison for two years upon program completion.
Student must maintain a GPA of 2.0 or above to remain in the program.
Must meet ACCUPLACER test standards set by NECC to enroll in the program.
Communication Skills : Must be able to communicate verbally, written and comprehend all materials given through college coursework and at the plant to include but not limited to computer training and manuals.
