Position : FSQA Technician

Reporting to : FSQA Supervisor

Location : Bowling Green

This facility is part of our Prepared Foods business unit and manufactures bacon.

SUMMARY : The Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) Technician position is responsible for :

  • Performing physical and visual inspections of product and plant systems then documenting, and calculating results accurately
  • Taking corrective action when necessary (alert appropriate personnel to adjust process; identify, segregate, & isolate non-conforming product) and report results to management;
  • Any additional assignments requested.
  • All team members are responsible for safety. This includes but is not limited to personal safety and food safety.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Education : High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience : Minimum of 1 year experience in the food manufacturing industry OR related Quality Assurance type experience.
  • Communication Skills : Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer Skills : Operate a computer or tablet like device.
  • Special Skills : Must possess skills to complete Tyson paperwork; ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce;
  • good problem identification and problem solving skills; math and organizational skills; ability to read and interpret product specifications;

must function well under stress; must have flexibility to work where and when needed.

Physical Requirements : Position involves heavy lifting (70 lbs. or more).
