We are seeking a Director of Business Development to join TDP’s portfolio company in the financial services industry. The Director will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, leading due diligence, and working with the broader team to ultimately close a large number of high-quality acquisitions and partnerships. The Director will be a key member of the management team, with day-to-day interaction with both the company’s executive management team as well as TDP.

The candidate will join a highly collaborative and motivated team in a dynamic environment with substantial opportunity to create value and contribute to the company’s growth and success. Qualified candidates should demonstrate a strong desire and passion for M&A and business development, working with small business owners, and a great goal-oriented attitude.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the process of identification, evaluation, and execution of acquisition opportunities within a dedicated geographic region
  • Owns the responsibility of building and maintaining a relationship with small business owners
  • Negotiate and explain deal terms while maintaining a positive working relationship with the business owner
  • Partner with senior leadership and TDP to set and execute strategy
  • Assist other business development officers in their efforts to obtain new business and retain existing relationships
  • Develop and maintain relationships with contacts, customers, and brokers to maintain and expand business
  • Lead due diligence (including managing third-parties), valuation analysis, and proposal development for potential acquisition candidates
  • Help build post transaction value creation plans with owners to ensure a successful investment post close
  • Work with senior management and third-party vendors to efficiently close transactions
  • Wear multiple hats if needed and be a team player in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment

Requirements

  • 7 years of experience in financial services or sales
  • Prior experience communicating directly with small business owners
  • Prior experience at a multi-site acquisition driven organization
  • Team player and self-starter
  • Advanced in Microsoft Office products
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Compensation

Highly competitive compensation consisting of base salary, an annual performance bonus, and equity package.
