Tyonek Native Corporation is Hiring an Aircraft Mechanic I – ALSS Near Patuxent River, MD

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Perform testing, diagnosing, repair on ALSS equipment such as parachutes, survival flotation equipment, and aviation oxygen per the maintenance support requirements.

DUTIES

  • The AM-ALSS shall have demonstrated maintenance knowledge, experience, and working level skills/ability in:
  1. Aviation Life Support Systems equipment maintenance testing, cleaning, and repair.
  2. NALCOMIS and VIDS/MAFs entry and completion.
  • Enters maintenance documentation in NALCOMIS (VIDSMAFs).
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • The AM-ALSS shall have graduated from the Navy PR A school or other military service equivalent.
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years' experience in the last 10 years in Navy/USMC/other military service ALSS equipment maintenance.
  • The AM-ALSS shall have a minimum of two (2) years in the last ten (10) years in Navy/USMC/other military service ALSS equipment maintenance and Aviation Quality Assurance Collateral Duty Inspector experience to the level of effort and complexity of requirements in this SOW. This experience shall be exclusive of formalized training time.
    • Examples of acceptable experience: Navy Aircrew Survival Equipment man (PR) (E-5 through E-7) or other military service equivalent. Graduate from Navy PR A and C schools or other military service equivalent experience. NEC PR-7356 Aviation Survival Equipment man (IMA) Technician.
  • Graduate from Navy PR A and C schools or other military service equivalent experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have or be able to obtain a National Agency Check with Investigation. The NACI process will include requesting a credit history.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands, working at heights with fall protection devices.
  • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds and carry for short distances.
  • May be required to read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
  • Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
  • May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, APU, etc.
