Tyme Maidu Tribe is Hiring a Special Events Cashier Near Oroville, CA

SUMMARY

This position includes collecting money at the POS System from customers in a timely and courteous manner. Under the direction of the Special Events Supervisor and/or Manager, performs the prompt and proper service of special events.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES ASSIGNED:

  • Must be available all shifts including weekends.
  • Responsible for maintaining the highest degree of confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical business conduct. 
  • Maintains a high standard of personal and professional hygiene.
  • Responsible for working each event scheduled and maintaining an excellent time and attendance record.
  • Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
  • Responsible for the setting up and breaking down of the Event Center and/or Conference Rooms.
  • Able to help with set up of tables, chairs including tablecloths, silverware and glasses.
  • Responsible for ushering guests to their seats during special events.
  • Observes customers to respond to additional requests to determine when meal has been completed. Assist in the clearing of used dishes and items. 
  • Cooperates with other staff of the department to ensure high quality of service.
  • Promptly reports equipment and food quality problems to the S.E. Supervisor.
  • Informs S.E. Supervisor immediately of product shortages.
  • Operates the Point-of-Sale System (POS) in a timely and correct manner. 
  • Receives payment for services and processes according to procedure.
  • Works assigned drawers with the responsibility of balancing within scheduled time. 
  • Maintains accurate money accounting following Casino policy and procedure.
  • Accurately processes sale transactions via phone and in person. 
  • Effectively and politely handles incoming calls and inquiries regarding availability; provides accurate and thorough information regarding events. 
  • Using the POS system, processes cash, credit cards and gift card transactions. 
  • Responsible for the loading in/out of equipment for event.
  • Responsible for setting up the dressing rooms.
  • Responsible for helping with the stage setup.
  • Responsible for running follow spots.
  • Helps to keep all Special Events service areas clean and tidy.
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of Special Events. 
  • Responsible for maintaining the highest degree of confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical business conduct. 
  • Keep up-to-date on Casino and restaurants promotions; able to inform customers in a comprehensive manner. 
  • Complete Foods Handlers and Responsible Beverage training. 
  • Helps to keep all Special Events service areas clean and tidy.

QUALIFICATIONS:

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and response to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public effectively and courteously.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

REASONING ABILITY: 

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Must have the ability to deal with problems, which may involve several concrete variables. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the team member must be able to communicate effectively. The individual is also regularly required to bend; stand; walk; sit; and use hand/eye coordination. The Individual must be able to lift at least 50 pounds repetitively. The individual may be required to stand for 8-10 hours.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. When on the Casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. The individual must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and constantly keep customer satisfaction as their first priority.

The Casino is a smoking environment, and the team member must be able to work in a smoke-filled atmosphere.
