G.I. JOHNS is looking to hire a full-time Service Technician/Assistant Driver(s) at their locations in Ft. Wayne, IN, Manassas Park, VA, and Richmond, VA. This is a key role leading the day-to-day execution of a rapidly growing portable sanitation company that takes pride in doing things the right way and executing the impossible.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
-Long distance driving
-Communicating and coordinating with dispatchers
-Obeying and following applicable traffic laws
-Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle
-Complying with truck driving rules and regulations
-Reporting defects, accidents, and violations
-Performing daily maintenance of truck (refueling, cleaning, etc.)
-Loading and unloading box trucks with forklifts and pallet jacks
-Interacting with customers in a professional manner
-Recording cargo deliveries
-Verifying loads for accuracy
-Clean and service rental equipment

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, to be familiar with not just traffic laws but rules regarding how often they are required to rest, maximum miles driven and the like.
• Physical fitness since Truck Drivers are required to pass a physical exam every two years.
• Hand-eye coordination, since they must coordinate their hands, legs, and eyes to maintain a fast reaction time on the roads.
• Visual and hearing acuity, in accordance with federal regulations which mandate that truck drivers must hear a forced whisper at 5 feet, have at least 20/40 vision, a 70-degree field of vision and the ability to distinguish the colors of traffic lights.
• A clean driving record and a valid driver’s license.
• Must have authorization to work in the United States of America. Some of the job sites that we support require work authorization in the U.S., American citizenship, and a clean criminal history in order to access their sites.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
