Two Rivers Supervisory Union is Hiring a Summer Camp Director Near Proctorsville, VT

The TRSU After School Program is looking for a Director for its Summer Camp Program, GO WILD in Ludlow, VT.

The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding the educational program in accordance with the mission and goals of the TRSU ASP and 21CCLC. The Director is responsible for guiding the educational program in accordance with the mission and goals of the TRSU ASP and 21CCLC. Additionally they are responsible for the general supervision and daily operations of all children attending Camp Go WILD.

Pay: $25-30/hr for 8 weeks. June 17 - August 9, 2024.

Location: Ludlow Elementary School

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in administering summer, or school year programs, with an awareness and ability to use Trauma Informed Practices
  • when working with campers, staff and families. An Associates degree or higher and 2 plus years of experience working with youth.
  • Experience with administrative tasks including: discipline, parent relationships, staff interactions, organization, and community building.
  • Must meet the requirements of the Department of Children and Families State Licensing Regulations. This includes a DCF background check, Mandated Reporter training, First Aid/CPR, and Licensing Orientation training (8 hours).
  • Go WILD is a comprehensive summer camp featuring outdoor education, literacy, STEM and Art.
  • A sensitive, mature individual who relates well to children and adults. A responsible individual who is able to solve problems involving staff, parents, children, and community members. Must be able to resolve conflict in a professional and courteous manner.
  • A member of the community, or able to build a connection within the community. This position serves as a liaison between campers, parents, Go WILD staff, and communities. Individual must present with enthusiasm for learning with children. Should be curious about the world, and interested in engaging students to learn about the world around them through hands on learning activities. Individuals must be passionate about the work they are doing and potential impact they have on campers experience.
  • Ability to be silly, flexible, and have fun with campers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
  • Supervise and implement programming at Go WILD in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the TRSU After School Programs.
  • Supervise and promote activities designed to enhance the healthy emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development of each child enrolled at Camp Go Wild.
  • Help children to become aware of their roles as integral members of a group.
  • Work with parents to promote understanding of their child's growth and development.
  • Effectively supervise and utilize counselors, program assistants, tutors, and administrators.
  • Supervise activities to ensure safety at all times.
  • Maintain the integrity of the program and comply with all procedures set by the ASP advisory board, 21C Guidelines, and State of Vermont Childcare Regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with campers, parents and the Program Director.
  • Supervise lunch, breakfast. Complete summer food reports daily.
  • Facilitate social and emotional learning throughout the summer.
  • Build long term, healthy, trusting relationships with campers.

Background Check Required. EOE.

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Schedule:
