About the role

We have two great internships available where you will learn about the diverse and unique growing areas of Napa, California from valley floor to hillside viticulture. We have approximately 3,000 acres spread across 27 unique vineyard properties. There are only a handful of internships that can offer this breadth of experience, working with a team who is dedicated to growing and making the highest quality wines.
As a Viticulture Harvest Intern you will work alongside the Viticulturist and Assistant Viticulturist. Some of the responsibilities for this role include grape maturity sampling, soil health and composition analysis, vine water status monitoring, pest and disease scouting, as well as GPS/GIS mapping of vineyards.

As a Viticulture Harvest Intern, you will work alongside the Viticulturist and Assistant Viticulturist. Some of the responsibilities for this role include: 

  • Participate in harvest activities, including collecting phenology data, taking maturity samples, and assisting in crop estimation.
  • Lead soil sampling analysis, water status monitoring, and pest and disease scouting.
  • Use Geographical Information System (GIS) and other agriculture technology to enhance precision farming. 
  • Conduct data analysis for on-going research and other assigned projects.

Position starts: May through October, season dependent.

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The base pay range offered for this position is $20 to $25 per hour. These figures represent what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, and alignment with market data. Our expectation is that the incumbent will work out of the Napa, CA area. If the incumbent works out of another location, the wage rate may fall above or below this range. Treasury reserves the right to modify the range in the future.
