About the role

The Credit Manager-China will work through customer related activities to ensure they are dealt with in a courteous, accurate & timely manner and adhere to the TBS principles & Credit policy. The key purpose of this role is to support the operations of the Credit/receivables & Deductions process within the TBS model. Working within the defined credit policies & set TBS guidelines, highlighting exceptions to the OTC process. Responsible for communications related to credit refusal, security, all payment methods i.e., LC, e-BAD etc. Mitigation of potential risk of bad debt via working within the set guidelines as defined within policy and set operational KPI/SLAs across OTC TBS To Lead the problem-solving support & AR technical decision making to regional customer services, commercial & treasury teams. Support the GPO-OTC to drive best practice in the OTC & AR/Credit Management function.

  • Escalation points in operating within the TBS model. 
  • Act as a Key Customer contact.
  • Proactively drive the regional working capital initiatives in Accounts Receivable as required, such as debt factoring, letters of credit, process improvement, etc.
  • Oversee the electronic Banking Acceptance Draft process
  • Oversee the local Fapiao process and manage relationship with 3rd party providers
  • Oversee the resolution of claims/deductions and support as required.
  • Lead in avoiding customer disputes and miscommunication & highlight corrective actions as required
  • Approve Credit limit unblock within set guidelines & to meet the deadline for the release of orders to the warehouse for delivery.
  • Co-Ordinate the activities at the Regional office including the offshore team.
  • Ensure all scanning & banking of cheques through to TBS centralised team.
  • Authorize new customer credit limit and existing customer credit extensions as per DAL limits.
  • Establish regular credit line reviews throughout the entire customer lifecycle and during major economic shifts (global/domestic)
  • Onboarding new customers in line with the Credit policy guidelines
  • Manage the debtor’s exposure by evaluating market intelligence, risk profiles and sales input
  • Ensure that all collection activity is conducted within legislative and Credit policy guidelines
  • Advise sales when supply will be interrupted
  • Collaborate with CS Lead on best practice between team
  • Coordinate the validation of claims and the timely resolution of disputes 
  • Approve & communicate to customers negotiated payment of overdue accounts as per guidelines
  • Monitor the age and number of unapplied receipts resolving allocation issues with the customers
  • Ensure compliance of Credit policy & procedures at a Region level and report any exceptions
  • Meet KPI metrics for GBS OTC/AR & pricing processing in line with company set targets
  • Coordinate and assist with audit requirements
  • Alignment to the key principles of the Global TBS OTC stream.
  • Manage & Monitor the performance across the GBS teams to deliver the daily operations and mitigate risk
  • Participation in regular service meetings with TBS teams
  • Input into OTC/ AR projects as required
  • Lead the initiatives of OTC within the Regional office
  • Drive the performance of the team to deliver best in class process

About you

  • Preferred degree level qualification
  • Membership of local credit or Financial Management Institute
  • Preferred experience in FMCG Credit/AR teams- minimum 8 Years Credit experience.
  • Systems skills in ERP(JDE) and Microsoft applications
  • Collection & Credit Management SLA’s & Commercial Awareness impacts, influencing results. 
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal & written – bi-lingual Mandarin and English as a minimum
  • Understanding of the Export/Import credit environment
  • Understanding of the China local credit environment
  • Financial skills with the ability to interpret financial & risk data
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience in working within set targets/ KPI’s and achieving 
  • Worked within a shared service environment preferred
  • Understood local credit legislation applicable to market
  • Wine industry experience desirable
