Tutto il Giorno is Hiring a HOURLY FLOOR MANAGER WANTED - SAG HARBOR Near Sag Harbor, NY

HIRING HOURLY FLOOR MANAGER - Fine dining Italian in Sag Harbor. Must have experience with a high volume restaurant including the door, phones, knowledge of reservation systems and POS. Fine dining experience a plus. Spanish speaking a plus. Full time, seasonal, hourly position.

The Floor Manager is responsible for leading team members through successful services, managing day-to-day restaurant operations, maintaining high service standards and conditions, and fostering a positive environment.

The Floor Manager reports to the General Manager. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.

Operational Leadership

 Open and/or closing; complete opening or closing checklists, as applicable.

 Perform all Toast POS functions, including opening and closing procedures, payments,

comps, voids and transfers, back-of-house administration (employee creation, menu

management, etc.)

 Communicate all restaurant updates and information effectively and efficiently, support

the GM by assisting in planning and execution of restaurant updates.

 Effectively manage reservations and walk-ins, maximizing guest count and sales through

an efficient and creative approach to service.

 Answer guest phone calls and email inquiries in a prompt, professional manner.

 Assist with the execution of special events, VIP guest services, and other specific

reservation requests.

 Support the GM during daily pre-shift meetings to ensure staff are up-to-date on service

changes, goals, and performance expectations.

 Enhance and strengthen guest relationships, established and new.

 Resolve complaints from guests in a polite, friendly manner always making sure to

follow up with them when needed.

 Ensure the entire space looks, smells, and feels great (lighting, temperature, bathrooms,

cleanliness, and seating arrangements).

 Maintain and oversee business patterns, reservations, and seating arrangements of the

restaurant.

 Participate in training about standardized policies (HR, fire, hygiene, health, safety,

employee handbook, etc.).

Safety

 Oversee regular Department of Health walk-throughs when on duty to ensure DOH

compliance; address all DOH violations immediately.

 Promote and practice safe work habits, identify and resolve potential safety hazards;

document accidents, conduct initial investigation and determination of root cause of

safety incidents in the interest of maintaining a safe work environment.

 Communicate maintenance and repair needs with Operations Manager and Director of

Operations.

Staff Management

 Support the employee experience in partnership with the GM and HR team (including

onboarding, training and development, employee relations, disciplinary action,

documentation, terminations, etc.)

 Support the preparation of staff schedules using 7Shifts; ensure the restaurant is

properly staffed at all times, covering call-outs and schedule changes as necessary, while

keeping labor costs in line with budget goals.

 Ensure that all team members are educated on Tutto il Giorno’s products and services.

 Ensure that all Company drink and food recipes and procedures are followed,

maintaining the highest quality and consistent product standards.

 Manage all employees (Front of House and Back of House, in conjunction with the Chef)

in their daily responsibilities at Tutto il Giorno, providing clear, effective direction, and

ensuring that they are performing up to standard and supporting the needs of the

restaurant in their given roles.

 Promote cooperative effort, team spirit, good morale, and positive culture among

employees.

 Identify staffing, recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training needs of qualified

candidates; assist in ongoing training and development of current staff.

 Coach and counsel team members for improved performance, documenting

developmental plans as necessary, in collaboration with the GM and Human Resources.

 Act as a role model for outstanding service; continuously work to elevate service

standards, and personally embody hospitality in daily actions.

 Manage team member conflicts or complaints through Company complaint-handling

procedure and progressive discipline.

Essential Functions

 Maintain the ability to lift 30 lbs.

 Demonstrate fluency in both written and spoken English.

 Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics, which inspire team members to meet

and exceed standards.

 Maintain a polished personal presentation: grooming meets Company standards, as

outlined by Employee Handbook.

 Communicate information effectively and efficiently.

 Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of

the business.

 Able to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously and for extended periods as required to

perform essential job functions.

 Able to perform essential job functions under pressure, maintain professionalism when

working under stress.

 Maintain general knowledge of Tutto il Giorno’s other concepts, location,

transportation, management team, etc.

 Able to utilize traditional software programs such as Gmail, Microsoft Office (Word,

Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), Toast POS and Payroll, SevenRooms, and any

additional systems as needed; able to access and accurately input information using a

moderately complex computer system.

 Participate in community events and ensure corporate social responsibility goals of the

Company are met.

 Ensure that all staff are compliant with Company’s policies and procedures, as well as

city, state, and federal laws.

 Attend mandatory meetings including staff meetings, leadership meetings, etc.

 Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.
