DESCRIPTION:

As a Senior Project Controller at Tutor Perini Building Corp., reporting to the Division Controller, you will have the opportunity to oversee the accounting operations and project controllers on multiple assigned construction project sites. This includes ensuring that the assigned project controllers are serving as the jobsite office manager, monitoring project budget and expenditures, and tracking all accounts payables and receivables.

• This position will carry out supervisory responsibilities of direct-report Project Controllers
• Oversees the set-up of standard electronic and physical file structure in coordination with Operations
• Promptly notifies Division Controller of exceptions or violations of policies and procedures
• Sets-up and maintains the Project Budget/Cost Reports with the Project Controller and Project Executive
• Maintains positive owner relations and meets all contractual and accounting requirements
• Reviews and approves (assembles and prepares if needed) monthly Owner Billings as required by Owner Contract
• Processes Owner payments and maintains Owner Payment Log
• Reviews and approves all sales tax reporting documentation and reports as needed
• Performs sales tax review of project A/P invoices
• Administers and supervises all job cost reporting
• Prepares & submits monthly cash flow
• Maintains the Change Management Logs
• Reviews, enters and approves monthly job cost accruals
• Reviews monthly over/under analysis
• Enters phase codes upon initial job set-up
• Directly assists and guides the Project Executive in preparation of quarterly CR-1 Reports (Contract Revenue Report)
• Directs and oversees Accounting closeout of project
• Travels as needed to the project sites to assist Project Controllers and Project Executives
• Demonstrates excellent knowledge of construction job cost accounting
• Demonstrates knowledge of commercial high-rise, casino, hospitality and/or hotel projects—especially construction equipment knowledge
• Ensures compliance with OSHA regulations to include health, safety, and welfare as appropriate

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field is preferred
• 5 or more years of Customer Facing Construction Accounting Project Experience
• Possesses excellent listening, oral and written communication skills, and superior problem-solving skills
• Able to provide thorough analysis and proper planning to achieve goals
• Must be dependable, consistent, diligent, and thorough. Must demonstrate attention to detail and analytical skills
• Demonstrates excellent presentation, time management and customer service skills
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Windows / Outlook / PowerPoint / Excel / Word
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of JD Edwards or similar accounting software
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Prolog, Procore or similar change order management software
